These days, I haven't written any complete articles because of the debate competition. January 4, 2024, is my Gregorian calendar birthday. Thinking about the topic of "birthday" is quite interesting, so I wanted to write this article.
Birthday, as the name suggests, is the day of birth. At first thought, it's just a day. We have lived through so many days, some of which are commemorated because of the significant events that happened on them. So, by that logic, a birthday could also be called a birth anniversary.
Birth, the act of coming into existence. Before, we didn't know where we were, and then we arrived in this world. Ants come into this world, seemingly without much fanfare. After people start working, they may not celebrate birthdays anymore. Birthdays may be for children. "This is my day."
From this, we can think about how miraculous the birth of life is. If we hadn't been born, would the world be the same?
We can imagine, on a night of overtime work, suddenly hearing a birthday song and children's laughter, which might involuntarily remind us of scenes from our own past birthdays: bringing out the cake, lighting the candles, turning off the lights, blowing out the candles, cutting the cake. The cake is often seen as a symbol of birthdays, but the cake itself is not important; our happiness on our birthday is what matters. If the birthday person blows out the candles with a sour face, then the birthday naturally becomes tasteless.
Commemorative days like birthdays can help us remember specific things on specific days. On birthdays, many platforms will send you birthday wishes. "Happy Birthday!" This day may not be as important as the days when big deals are signed, but at this moment, your birth is worth celebrating.
